The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremists and groups of settlers, guarded by the Israeli occupation police, citing it as a provocation to the feelings of all Muslims and a flagrant violation of the relevant international charters, conventions and resolutions.In a statement issued today, the OIC warned against the ongoing and escalating violations by the Israeli occupation in the occupied city of Jerusalem, emphasizing that Israel, as the occupying power, holds no sovereignty over the city and its holy sites. It further reaffirmed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entirety, is a sacred place of worship reserved for Muslims.It urged the UN Security Council and UNESCO to fulfil their responsibilities in halting the recurrent and severe Israeli violations of the sanctity of holy places and the freedom of worship. It also reiterated its call to the international community to promptly and completely halt Israeli aggression and p rovide protection for the Palestinian people, their land, and holy sites.Source: Saudi Press Agency
