Tehran: Pakistan's Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan has emphasized the coordinated efforts of Islamabad and Tehran in eliminating barriers to trade, border infrastructure, and customs, adding that Pakistan is determined to finalize the Iran-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Kamal Khan made the remarks at the opening session of the 10th meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee, which took place in Islamabad on Tuesday and was attended by the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Khan stated the meeting is a culmination of ongoing consultations between the officials of both countries and the agreement of the leaders of Iran and Pakistan to increase trade exchanges. He highlighted the shared history and brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan, which serve as a strong foundation for continued friendship and cooperation as neighboring countries. Kamal Khan further stressed the need for practical steps to enhance bilateral tra de, suggesting that the meeting should act as a new opportunity to expand cross-border exchanges.
