Tehran: Pakistan's Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, has emphasized that Islamabad strongly believes diplomacy, dialogue, and confidence-building are the most effective means for resolving disputes. Speaking at a ceremony commemorating Pakistan's Defense Day in Tehran on Sunday, Siddiqui said that national security now goes beyond the traditional definition, adding that it encompasses not only military defense but also economic resilience, social development, technological capabilities, and the government's ability to ensure security in areas such as energy, food, water, and health.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Siddiqui also thanked Brigadier General Hamzeh Ghalandari, Iran's Deputy Defense Minister and Director General for International Relations at the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, for attending the ceremony as the special guest. He said Ghalandari's presence would further strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran. 'Since the beginning of this year, we have opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries. The political and military leaderships of both countries have played a sincere role in strengthening and expanding these crucial ties,' the ambassador added.

For his part, Brigadier General Ghalandari congratulated Pakistan on its Defense Day. He noted that in recent years, significant and effective measures have been implemented to enhance security along the Iran-Pakistan border, adding that this has been achieved through close relations and cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, along with their joint commitment to establishing comprehensive security along the border.
