Pakistan Hails Pezeshkian’s Upcoming Visit as Affirmation of Shared Peace Vision

Islamabad: President Masoud Pezeshkian will pay an official visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, June 23, with Islamabad describing the trip as a reaffirmation of both nations' common aspirations for peace, stability, and sustainable regional progress.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the office of the spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement confirming that President Pezeshkian will lead a high-level delegation comprising ministers and other senior Iranian officials during the visit, which comes at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

On the diplomatic agenda, President Pezeshkian will hold meetings and talks with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Sharif, as well as Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

Regarding the significance of the visit, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry stated that senior officials will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explore new avenues for deepening cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, energy, border security, people-to-people ties, and regional connectivity.

The ministry added that the visit will also provide an important opportunity to discuss ongoing diplomatic engagements following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Tehran and Washington, as well as regional and international developments of mutual interest.
