Islamabad: Pakistan is pursuing a good course in its relations with Tehran, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said on Saturday, citing steady engagement and close contacts with senior Iranian officials over the past year. Speaking at a year-end press briefing, Dar highlighted the importance of maintaining regular communication with Iran's leadership, including ongoing contacts between the heads of state and the foreign ministers of the two neighboring countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Dar expressed satisfaction with the significant growth in bilateral ties over the past year, indicating that Islamabad is following a positive trajectory in its relations with Tehran. He also addressed recent regional developments, emphasizing Pakistan's strong condemnation of US-Israeli aggressions against the Islamic Republic of Iran in June, and noted Pakistan's efforts at regional and international levels to help ease tensions.

Dar made it clear that Islamabad's stance on regional conflicts was focused on encouraging peace, particularly in Gaza, while rejecting any notion that Pakistan would deploy troops to disarm the Palestinian resistance group Hamas. He stressed that such actions were not Pakistan's responsibility and reaffirmed Islamabad's firm opposition to any involvement of that nature.
