Previous reports also indicated that 13 American soldiers have been killed in the ongoing conflict. The hostilities erupted following a large-scale unprovoked military aggression by the US and the Israeli regime against Iran. This aggression was triggered by the assassination of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians, on February 28.
In response to the attack, the Iranian Armed Forces launched retaliatory operations using missiles and drones targeting American military bases in the region and Israeli positions in the occupied territories. These counterattacks eventually compelled the aggressors to request a ceasefire.
