Tehran: Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, Zahra Behrouz-Azar, has announced that President Masoud Pezeshkian's administration has appointed more women to managerial positions than any of its predecessors, including senior executive roles.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Behrouz-Azar made this statement during a meeting of the Zanjan Provincial Administrative Council. She emphasized that these appointments are a reflection of the Pezeshkian administration's commitment to recognizing and harnessing the capabilities and potential of women.

Behrouz-Azar highlighted the significant achievements of women in Iran, noting that they make up more than 60 percent of applicants seeking university admission. Additionally, women are responsible for 24 percent of registered inventions in the country, surpassing the global average of 14 to 17 percent.

The vice president also revealed that women lead about 12 percent of Iran's knowledge-based companies and constitute nearly 48 percent of the government's executive workforce. These statistics, she noted, exemplify the recognition and integration of women's contributions by the current administration.

Behrouz-Azar further discussed the legal frameworks supporting the government's policies on women and family affairs. She stated that the administration is actively addressing a range of issues on its agenda and aims to develop and implement policies and programs that meet the actual needs of women and families.
