Nagoya:President Masoud Pezeshkian applauded the achievements of Iran's sports delegation at the Asian Games, highlighting the impressive haul of 52 medals as a testament to the will and capability of Iranian youth.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed his congratulations in a message on Sunday, referring to the delegation known as 'Angels of Minab.' He noted that the athletes achieved this success despite the challenging conditions faced by the nation due to imposed wars and their aftermath.

Pezeshkian commended the athletes for entering the competition with motivation and confidence, showcasing their abilities on the field. Special praise was given to Iran's female athletes, who secured three gold, seven silver, and five bronze medals, marking the best performance in the history of Iranian women's sports at the Asian Games.

He emphasized that this achievement reflects the potential of Iranian women to excel and bring honor on both the Asian and global stages when given the chance to develop and compete.
