Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has described the Islamabad memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States as 'dignified' and free of any concession, saying Iran must use logic and maintain its strength to move beyond a state of 'neither war nor peace.'

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian spoke at a ceremony marking National Doctors' Day in Tehran, emphasizing that the agreement's commitments were directed at the other side. He stated that perpetual war is unsustainable and expressed the necessity for a decision to save the country from a state of 'neither war nor peace.'

Pezeshkian highlighted that members of the Supreme National Security Council involved in the matter considered the memorandum 'the best agreement based on dignity, wisdom, and expediency.' He assured that not a single clause in the document indicated capitulation, and all commitments were directed at the other side.

He further mentioned that the Leader determines the policies, and the administration would adhere to the same path. Pezeshkian expressed confidence that Iran could resolve its issues through the implementation of the memorandum 'with logic and dignity,' while emphasizing the country's resistance to yielding to its enemies.

Moreover, he pointed out the challenges of attracting investment under conditions of war or 'neither war nor peace,' noting that 'capital and money are the most delicate non-human beings that flee from any danger.' In his address, Pezeshkian also commended the resilience of Iranians who stood by the country despite their grievances, asserting that when the homeland is at stake, 'we all work together and in one voice for Iran.'

The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, signed on June 18, 2026, successfully ended the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran that began on February 28.
