Doha: President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed satisfaction over the expansion of relations between Iran and Tajikistan based on their linguistic, historical, cultural, and civilizational commonalities. Iran and Tajikistan have good capacities for cooperation, and activating them will serve the interests of the two nations, Pezeshkian said in a meeting with his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon, which was held on the sidelines of an emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha on Monday, which brings together leaders from the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to forge a collective response to a recent Israeli airstrike against the Qatari capital.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Israeli regime, backed by the US and European countries, recognizes no bounds for its crimes, and only the unity and solidarity of Islamic countries can stop the killing machine and crimes of this regime, Pezeshkian added.
Meanwhile, Rahmon said Iran and Tajikistan have various opportunities for cooperation with each other, adding that he had personally followed up on activating these capacities and the expansion of mutual cooperation. Confirming Pezeshkian’s remarks on the necessity of unity among Islamic countries to prevent the continuation of the Israeli regime’s crimes, he expressed his satisfaction with the agreement between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
