Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for a comprehensive damage assessment to identify and address security gaps and operational shortcomings revealed during the recent 12-day war of aggression imposed by Israel.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the president made the call during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, where he received a detailed performance report, covering the activities and services of ministries and agencies during the war. The Interior Ministry also reported on measures taken to repatriate foreign nationals who had entered the country illegally.
Pezeshkian urged a revision in the government’s approach to citizens, including critics of the administration and even those previously seen as opponents, noting that many stood by Iran during the imposed war. The president called on officials to try to preserve the national unity and solidarity created between the people and the government.
He emphasized the importance of recognizing the serious contributions of the people, non-governmental organizations, and all sectors-public and private-throughout the war. Commending all government agencies for their nation-building efforts, Pezeshkian urged managers and officials to focus their energy on resolving the people’s problems.
Pezeshkian also requested that ministers and senior managers present reports on their wartime actions and achievements to the media. He stressed that the government’s efforts during the war, which ensured the continuity of everyday life, must be properly conveyed to the people.
