Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on Muslim countries to act collectively and decisively through active diplomacy to stop Israel’s atrocities in Gaza, describing the ongoing humanitarian disaster as intolerable for any free-minded human being.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed his concerns in a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, stressing the need for Islamic unity and diplomatic pressure to prevent further crimes. Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and urged other Muslim nations to adopt a firmer stance.

Pezeshkian stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently defended the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation and called for collective efforts to confront the Zionist regime’s actions. He referenced Israel’s 12-day war against Iran, highlighting Iran’s commitment to defending the rights of the Palestinian people despite international pressure.

Pezeshkian also expressed a desire for deeper bilateral ties with Malaysia, calling for expanded cooperation between the two nations. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim condemned the situation in Gaza, noting Malaysia’s strong diplomatic response and commitment to halting the violence.

Anwar emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Iran and expressed his readiness to visit Tehran at Pezeshkian’s invitation, noting the respect that Malaysia holds for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
