Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has warned against Israel’s destructive role in the region, and called on regional countries to foster unity to counter the regime’s plots. The President made the remarks in a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Interior Abdul Amir al-Shammari in Tehran on Monday. Pezeshkian said the Israeli regime is disrupting peace and security in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian stated, “The Zionist regime is the arrogant system’s project to undermine, occupy, and plunder the resources of the regional countries and disintegrate the region.” He emphasized the need for regional unity, urging countries to stand united against a common enemy, support each other, and avoid division.

The President commended the strong Tehran-Baghdad relations, which are rooted in deep religious and cultural bonds. He noted Iran’s commitment to enhancing unity among Muslim nations and expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation with Iraq in various fields.

nister, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, congratulated the Iranian people for their resilience against the Israeli regime during its 12-day acts of aggression. Al-Shammari also highlighted Iraq’s efforts to accommodate millions of pilgrims for Arba’een, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).
