Tabriz: Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, an adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, criticized certain countries' attempts to establish an empire in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Rahim-Safavi made these remarks in Tabriz, the provincial capital of East Azerbaijan, located in Northwestern Iran, on Thursday. He asserted that any malicious plan aimed at creating an empire in the region is bound to fail.

The senior Iranian military official highlighted that some of Iran's regional rivals are attempting to replicate historical scenarios, but he emphasized that such assumptions are no longer effective.
