President of Colombia Directs a Stop to Coal Deliveries Destined for Israel

Bogot¡: Colombian President Gustavo Petro has commanded the interception of any vessel transporting coal to Israel. This decisive move signifies Colombia’s firm stance against the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and reflects its commitment to international human rights concerns.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, President Petro stated that any ship delivering coal shipments to Israel must be intercepted. He emphasized that Colombia will not contribute to what he describes as genocide in the Gaza Strip. This directive aligns with Colombia’s prior decision in August to ban coal exports to Israel, a measure taken in response to alleged Israeli crimes in the region.

Wafa news agency reported President Petro’s announcement, highlighting that the order came after a coal-loaded ship departed from Ci©naga bound for Israel on Thursday. The President described this shipment as a direct challenge to his government’s policies, reinforcing Colombia’s stance on the matter.
