Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for efforts to root out injustice and discrimination in the country, especially in the education sector, saying that paying lip service will not resolve the issue. Speaking at an Education Councils conference on Monday in Tehran, Pezeshkian said injustice and discrimination are not acceptable in a Shia society.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian emphasized the need for tangible actions to eliminate discrimination and injustice in the atmosphere, equipment, methods, and quality of education. He invoked the teachings of Imam Ali, the first Imam of Shia Muslims, to stress the importance of justice and fairness.
Pezeshkian acknowledged the limitations of governmental power compared to the unlimited power of nations, urging collective national effort to address the issue. As a top authority, he accepted his share of responsibility for the existing shortcomings and underscored the importance of not allowing injustice and unfairness to persist within the country's education system and educational circles.
