Doha: Qatar has reopened Al Ruwais Port to Iranian goods, allowing maritime trade between the two countries to resume after a roughly five-month suspension, Iran's commercial attach© in Doha said on Sunday.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Abbas Abdolkhani announced that cargo shipments between Iran's Dayyer Port and Qatar's Al Ruwais Port had restarted. This follows efforts by the Iranian embassy in Doha, in coordination with Qatari authorities, to reestablish the trading route.

Abdolkhani noted that Al Ruwais Port serves as a crucial entry point for Iranian goods into the Qatari market. The reopening is expected to facilitate bilateral trade by reducing transportation costs, expediting deliveries, and increasing trade volumes.

He further highlighted that expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation remains a shared priority for Tehran and Doha. This initiative is being actively pursued in line with the commitment of senior officials from both countries to strengthen bilateral relations.
