Qatar’s Defense Systems Intercept 18 Iranian Missiles Aimed at U.S. Airbase

Doha: Qatar’s air defence systems successfully intercepted 18 out of 19 Iranian ballistic missiles targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, which hosts U.S. forces, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced. Remarkably, one missile did reach the base, but it did not result in any casualties or material damage.

According to Nam News Network, Shayeq Al-Hajri, the deputy chief of Joint Operations, confirmed at a press conference that the missiles were launched in two separate waves. The intercepted missiles were neutralized over the sea after breaching Qatari airspace, showcasing the effectiveness of Qatar’s defensive measures.

Al-Hajri revealed that intelligence received earlier indicated a potential threat to several regional military installations, including Al Udeid. He highlighted Qatar’s military readiness and emphasized that the country’s defensive capabilities extend beyond what has been publicly demonstrated.
