Tehran: The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, Brigadier General Esmaeil Qa'ani, has pledged to continue the Resistance Front's 'bright and honorable path' under the guidance of the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, General Qa'ani's statement was made on Sunday following a message from the Leader a day earlier. Ayatollah Hosseini Khamenei had commended the massive public participation at the funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader. He also issued a warning to US President Donald Trump about the 'unforgettable lessons' that the Iranian nation and Resistance Front could impart.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated in his Saturday message, "Now that the American enemy is seeking to stir up war and suffer heavier costs and further disgrace, let it know that the dear Iranian nation and the Axis of Resistance have unforgettable lessons for them."
General Qa'ani expressed his appreciation for the Leader's support towards the Resistance Front and reaffirmed the commitment of commanders and fighters to the covenant made with the late Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The statement emphasized, "We emphasize our continued faithfulness to the covenant we made with the martyred Imam of the Ummah."
This reaffirmation by General Qa'ani comes amid heightened tensions, as the United States has increased its aggressive stance against Iran, in breach of a memorandum of understanding signed by both parties last month intended to halt hostilities on all fronts.
