Faruj: The saffron harvest season has begun in Faruj, North Khorasan Province, with thousands of villagers participating in the picking of the flowers. Harvesting is currently in progress across 4,940 hectares of farmland, with an estimated output of around 29 tons valued at over 35 trillion rials this year.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Faruj leads the province’s eight counties in saffron production, with 400 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of this valuable crop. The region’s commitment to saffron farming highlights its significance in the local agricultural landscape.
