The Arab League's General Secretariat hosted the third meeting of a joint committee of experts and relevant officials, spotlighting a proposal for a draft Arab advisory law to safeguard children from recruitment in armed conflicts. Saudi Arabia was represented at the meeting, chaired by Algeria, with a delegation headed by Director of Human Rights Departments at the Saudi Ministry of Justice Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al-Zaid. The joint committee comprises experts and representatives from pertinent authorities in Arab nations, including ministries of justice and interior. Algeria put forth a proposal for formulating a draft Arab advisory law to safeguard children from recruitment in armed conflicts. This proposal had previously been presented to the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which approved the preparation of the draft law during its 37th session. The requisite recommendations will be formulated and presented at the forthcoming session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice for consideration. Mor eover, the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers will communicate the meeting's conclusions, emphasizing the significance of establishing an Arab advisory law to protect children from recruitment in armed conflicts while addressing concerns related to the child's privacy.
