The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has participated in the G7 Health Ministers' Meeting held in Ancona, Italy, following an invitation from the Group of Seven (G7). The meeting focused on several pressing global health issues, including antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the impact of climate change on health, and efforts to prolong human life, all aimed at strengthening international collaboration to tackle these critical challenges. The Saudi delegation was led by Assistant Undersecretary for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health Rakan Khalid bin Dohaish who represented Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel. During his address, Bin Dohaish emphasized the importance of confronting antimicrobial resistance, describing it as one of the most significant health threats today. He called for intensified global efforts to combat this issue, which endangers public health worldwide. Bin Dohaish also highlighted Saudi Arabia's commitment to addressing these challenges, announcing that the Kingdom is preparing to h ost the 4th Global High-Level Ministerial Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Jeddah from November 15 to 16, 2024. This event will bring together global health leaders to explore sustainable solutions for AMR. Furthermore, he underscored the impact of climate change on public health and the importance of investing in solutions to mitigate these effects. Bin Dohaish reaffirmed the Kingdom's dedication to working alongside international partners to enhance the readiness of health systems in confronting climate-related challenges.
