Saudi Arabia will honor the victors of the 44th edition of the King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition for Memorization, Recital and Explanation at the Grand Mosque on Wednesday. The competition, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, unfolded in Makkah. A total of 174 contenders representing 123 countries participated in this edition, marking the most significant number of participating countries in the competition's history. The winners will be honored under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and on his behalf, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz. Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and General Supervisor of the competition Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for their unwavering care for the Quran and Quran reciters. The minister underscored the leaders hip's continual backing for this competition, which bears the name of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. He emphasized the privilege bestowed upon the Kingdom by Allah through embracing the Two Holy Mosques and serving Muslims globally, including by hosting international Quran contests and fostering healthy competition among Muslims in Quran memorization, recitation, and interpretation. The ministry takes pride in organizing this competition, which is of high status worldwide, the minister remarked, underscoring that it reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to the Quran and its memorizers.
