The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), represented by Director General of Loan Operations Abdullah Al-Saif, participated in the inauguration of the Sir Anerood Jugnauth Hospital (Flacq Teaching Hospital) in Mauritius, in the presence of Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth. The SFD contributed to financing the hospital through a soft development loan of $50 million, aimed at bolstering the healthcare system in Mauritius. Spanning approximately 95,000 square meters, the hospital accommodates up to 575 medical beds. The inauguration was attended by various officials, including Minister of Health and Wellness of Mauritius Kailesh Kumar Singh. The SFD initiated its development efforts in Mauritius in 1982. Over the years, the Fund has financed a range of projects and development programs across key sectors in the nation. Specifically, the SFD has financed the implementation of seven projects and programs through soft development loans totaling over $228 million, aiming to enhance social and economic growth. T hese endeavors are geared towards aligning with advancements in development, knowledge, and capacity building, and ensuring the provision of essential infrastructure services in Mauritius.
