The International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition, held between October 3 and 12 in Malham, north of Riyadh, featured over 20 workshops and dialogue sessions led by local and international experts in the field of falconry. One of the highlights was a workshop on remote tracking of the houbara bustard, in which Dr. Olivier Combreau, head of the houbara program at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve, discussed how satellite technology is used to track houbara migration patterns and identify challenges they face in the wild. Combreau said that tracking operations have contributed significantly to developing houbara conservation strategies. Falconry expert Sultan Al-Mawash participated in a dialogue session focusing on falcons and falconry, presenting various species of falcons found in the Arabian Peninsula, and the importance of the Saudi Falcons Club's programs to protecting the natural habitats for falcons and preserving their lineage. Hosted by the Saudi Falcons Club, the workshops and dialogue sessions also covered topics such as technical innovations, legislation related to falcons, and environmental sustainability.
