Riyadh, The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced the participation of 10 male and female athletes in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11. The athletes will compete in show jumping, taekwondo, and swimming. Donia Abu Taleb will represent the Kingdom in taekwondo, having secured her spot during the Asian qualifying rounds held in March in Taian, China. In show jumping, Ramzy Al-Duhami, Abdullah Al-Sharbatly, Khalid Al-Mobty, and Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi will represent the Kingdom. They qualified for the Olympics by topping Group G qualifiers at the Doha International Show Jumping Championship in 2023. In athletics, Mohammed Tolo, a shot putter, will make his Olympic debut after breaking the Asian record in Madrid in June. Hussain Al-Hizam, a pole vaulter, will also make his first Olympic appearance after accumulating an impressive 1,252 points in the global rankings. Among the wild card entries, 17-year-old Saudi female swimmer Mashael Al-Ayed will compete in the 200-meter freestyle event. She will be accompanied by the youngest Saudi athlete in this edition of the Olympics, 16-year-old Zaid Al-Sarraj, who will compete in the 100-meter freestyle for the first time.
