The Saudi Physics Team achieved significant success at the 8th edition of the European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO 2024) held in Georgia from July 15 to 19, 2024. Out of 275 students from 55 countries, the Saudi team won four international awards. This brought the total number of awards for the Kingdom to 21. Secretary General of "Mawhiba" Dr. Amal Al-Hazaa expressed her pride in this achievement and highlighted the ongoing success of Saudi students in international competitions. Dr. Al-Hazaa explained that the Saudi students' talents and competitive abilities led to their success in winning these awards. "Mawhiba" is dedicated to empowering talented Saudis by providing them with the necessary skills and competencies using the latest methods of identifying and nurturing talented individuals globally, contributing to the realization of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals. The Saudi team for EuPhO 2024 underwent rigorous and comprehensive preparation, including training by a select group of Saudi and foreign trainer s, regular testing, and coaching in higher-order thinking skills. The team members worked on specific, unfamiliar physics experiments designed for both local and international competitions, using specially designed tools that feature challenging ideas and puzzles.
