Saudi Translation Association Advances Efforts to Strengthen Sector in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Translation Association, a non-profit organization within Saudi Arabia's cultural sector, is intensifying its efforts to enhance its role in the Kingdom's translation industry. The association is working to fulfil its vision through a series of programs, activities, and initiatives approved by its Board of Directors, led by Dr. Mohammed Al-Barakati, and supported by leading figures in the translation field.The CEO of the association, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sayed, emphasized the association's commitment to supporting and collaborating with key stakeholders in the translation sector. He highlighted the association's role in fostering cooperation and communication among practitioners while advancing the sector's interests.The association has outlined nine strategic goals, which include promoting translation as a critical tool for cross-cultural communication, empowering language specialists to pursue careers in translation, and guiding non-specialists interested in the field. Additionally, the associat ion aims to contribute to the establishment and enforcement of quality standards, accreditation, and professional classification within the industry.The association also seeks to expand its membership, offer a dedicated service system for its members, and build effective partnerships with relevant organizations. Other objectives include offering expert consultations, organizing local and international events, supporting human resources, and promoting the use of technology in translation in coordination with related authorities.
