Tehran: During the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Kyrgyzstan, a series of documents were reviewed, approved, and signed with the participation of the SCO heads of state, including President Masoud Pezeshkian.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the summit featured the signing of the 'Bishkek Declaration on the 25th Anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization' as a significant outcome. Key documents placed on the agenda included a draft protocol for amendments to the SCO Charter and regulations for the Universal Centre for Countering Security Challenges. Additionally, the summit saw approval for regulations of the executive committee of the Anti-Drug Centre.

The summit agenda further covered decisions on translation services for SCO activities, a member states' engagement program on combating drug addiction until 2030, and a coordinated action plan to counter synthetic drugs and precursors until 2030. An action plan for the development of ports and logistics centers for the period 2026-2030 was also part of the approved documents.

Moreover, the summit addressed initiatives for biodiversity conservation and sustainable management, a joint action program for 2026-2031, and a concept for establishing regional data processing centers and artificial intelligence development. A cooperation program for a 'Green Technology Corridor' for 2026-2030 was among the key agreements.

The summit also declared Lahore, Pakistan, as the SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital for 2026-2027. It included a decision to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the African Union Commission, an engagement program on international information security, and updates to the honorary title of 'Goodwill Ambassador.'

Additional decisions included the approval of annual reports from the SCO Secretary-General and the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, as well as the termination of previous Council of Heads of State decisions. Declarations in nuclear security, energy conservation, and family institution support were also presented at the summit.
