Sheikh Mohamed El Hafedh El Nahoui Condemns Iranian Attacks on Gulf States

Nouakchott: The head of the African Scholars Forum and the Islamic Cultural Assembly has expressed strong condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting several Gulf states. Sheikh Mohamed El Hafedh El Nahoui, during a meeting with leaders from the Islamic Cultural Assembly and the Forum of African Scholars, reaffirmed his position against the attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He labeled these assaults as unjustified, especially given the known stances of these countries in opposing the war.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Sheikh Al-Nahawi criticized Iran for focusing its aggression on Islamic nations instead of targeting Zionist entities, despite its stated opposition to the ongoing conflict. He emphasized the importance of the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as essential for the stability of the Middle East and the wider Islamic world, including Iran. Sheikh Al-Nahawi also praised these countries for their supportive stances towards Mauritania and commended the official position of the Mauritanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sheikh Al-Nahawi urged scholars and civil society groups to actively work towards enhancing Islamic solidarity and fostering positive relations with non-Arab and non-Islamic nations that aim to promote global peace and security. In his concluding remarks, he prayed for divine intervention to protect the Islamic world, cease the violence, and expedite an end to the conflict for the betterment of the Arab and Islamic nations.

He stressed that any conflict or aggression against Islamic countries serves the interests of the common Zionist adversary. He called for unified efforts against this enemy to advance the just causes of the nation, support the Palestinian struggle, and achieve the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which holds significant religious importance as the first of the two Qiblas and the third of the two Holy Mosques.
