Tehran: Sixteen Iranian nurses have been killed during two conflicts involving Israel and the United States, according to Ahmad Nejatian, head of the Iranian Nursing Organization. Nejatian disclosed these figures during a joint press briefing with the managing director of the Iranian Society of Organ Donation.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Nejatian reported that eleven nurses were killed in a 12-day conflict in June 2025, while five others died in the latest hostilities that commenced on February 28 this year. In response to these losses, the Iranian Nursing Organization has submitted a report to the United Nations and sent letters to pertinent international organizations, urging action against what they describe as US-Israeli attacks on health and medical facilities in Iran.

The World Health Organization confirmed in early April that it had verified over 20 attacks on Iranian healthcare facilities since March 1 amid the latest conflict with the US and Israel. Additionally, Iran's Emergency Medical Services Organization announced on April 29 that 449 medical centers were damaged, 26 emergency service personnel were killed, and 118 others injured during the same conflict.
