Tehran: South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun has reiterated his country's support for diplomatic efforts to maintain peace and stability in the West Asia region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during a phone call on Friday, Cho and Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, discussed the latest regional developments and bilateral relations between the two countries. Cho welcomed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) reached between Iran and the United States, emphasizing his country's support for diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring safe shipping.

For his part, Araghchi briefed his South Korean counterpart on the latest developments in the negotiation process, highlighting the progress made in implementing the agreed-upon measures and the consultations that have taken place within this framework. The two sides also reviewed the latest bilateral, regional, and international developments, emphasizing the importance of continuing political consultations and expanding their joint cooperation.
