The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) lens has captured images of the rare celestial event called the "Great Conjunction," where Jupiter and Mars aligned in the early morning sky over the Northern Border region today. The two planets, visible to the naked eye as a dazzling duo on the eastern horizon, appeared closer than ever, creating a spectacular sight for skywatchers. Brjs Al-Fuleih, an astronomy expert from the Afaq Society for Astronomy, explained that although the planets were hundreds of millions of kilometers apart, their alignment produced an optical illusion. Through a telescope, observers could spot Jupiter's four largest moons, highlighting the vast difference in size between the gas giant and the red planet. The conjunction coincided with the annual Perseid meteor shower.
