Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, underscored the importance of the World Bank (WB) 's development role in the Middle East and North Africa region targeting vital projects and sectors in general. This statement came during an expanded meeting held in Washington by Al-Asoumi with a number of World Bank vice presidents and executive directors concerned with the affairs of the Middle East and North Africa. In a statement today, the Arab Parliament stated that Al-Asomi praised the WB's projects in the region, citing, particularly, the recent developmental projects the WB funded in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in the State of Palestine.
