Tehran: A senior adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution has stated that the Strait of Hormuz has always been and will remain under Iranian control, countering recent comments by US President Donald Trump about the strategic waterway.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in an interview with Al Mayadeen, Mohammad Mokhber criticized Trump's statements as mere 'fantasizing' about the Strait of Hormuz. Mokhber emphasized that Iran is the only authority that will continue to dictate the management of the waterway, highlighting the existence of a legal framework within the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the Leader's decisions regarding the strait.
Mokhber asserted that the management of the Strait of Hormuz will be conducted solely in accordance with the protocols established by the Islamic Republic of Iran. He dismissed Trump's comments as 'illogical, ineffective, and futile,' asserting that they would not influence Iran's stance.
Mokhber concluded by stating that Iran is 'fully prepared' to maintain its control and management of the Strait, reinforcing the country's commitment to its strategic interests in the region.
