Tehran: Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for the Armed Forces, has announced that newly-appointed commanders will continue the mission of their predecessors with unwavering commitment. Shekarchi emphasized the determination of the Iranian Armed Forces to maintain their strategic path amidst recent escalations.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Shekarchi dismissed claims by the Israeli regime that Iran had targeted residential areas during ‘Operation True Promise 3’. He accused Israel of attacking residential areas in Iran on Friday, resulting in the deaths of numerous civilians, including women and children.
Shekarchi further asserted that Israel is unable to counter Iran’s advanced, precision-guided missiles, even with support from allies like the United States. He criticized the Israeli regime and its supporters for underestimating Iran’s capabilities and wrongly assuming that assassinating Iranian commanders would weaken the nation.
The situation escalated as Israel launched military strikes in Tehran and other Iranian cities, targeting residential buildings and key military figures. Among the casualties were Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, and Major General Hossein Salami, Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), both of whom were assassinated in Tehran.
