Tehran: The Foreign Ministry has summoned the British ambassador to Tehran to protest repeated 'baseless' accusations by British officials against the Islamic Republic, urging London to stop hosting and supporting anti-Iran terrorist networks instead of making fabricated claims.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the British envoy was summoned on Wednesday by Alireza Yousefi, assistant foreign minister and director general for Western Europe, who formally conveyed Tehran's protest over the British government's 'inappropriate approach' toward the Iranian nation.

Delivering an official diplomatic note, Yousefi rejected British allegations that Iran had sought to carry out security-related activities in Britain, calling the claims 'false and unfounded.' He said the accusations amounted to 'nothing more than deflection and an attempt to evade accountability for destructive conduct contrary to international law,' particularly Britain's alleged complicity with the United States and Israel in 'committing heinous crimes' and destabilizing West Asia, as well as hosting anti-Iran terrorist networks.

Yousefi urged the British government to revise its policy toward Iran, end its hosting and support for 'terrorist and violence-promoting individuals and networks,' and cease its backing of Israel. The Foreign Ministry also stressed that Britain's continued hosting of terrorist networks allegedly financed and directed by Israel violates Britain's international legal obligations to refrain from supporting terrorism and 'must be ended without delay.'
