The 27th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces thwarted, on Sunday, an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of alcoholic beverages east of Anbar Governorate. A statement by the Popular Mobilization Forces Authority stated that a force from the intelligence of the 27th Brigade, the Second Regiment (Special Missions) of the Popular Mobilization Forces, based on accurate intelligence information, was able to thwart an attempt to smuggle a shipment of alcoholic beverages amounting to (2575 cartons) coming from Baghdad to Anbar by hiding it in a (Mercedes Actros) truck at Al-Aqwas checkpoint (entrance to Al-Karma district).
