President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid praised the important role of religious scholars in spreading the values of tolerance, brotherhood, acceptance of others and consolidating stability in the country. A presidential statement stated that the President of the Republic received, today, Tuesday, at the Baghdad Palace, a delegation from the Council of Iraqi Scholars headed by Sheikh Mahmoud Abdul Aziz Al-Ani. During the meeting, the President of the Republic praised the important role of religious scholars in spreading the values of tolerance, brotherhood, acceptance of others and consolidating stability in the country. During the meeting, according to the statement, views were exchanged and discussions were held on the societal reality and confronting the negative phenomena that affect Iraqi society, especially the young generations, such as drugs and extremism, and working to strengthen and consolidate the system of morals and noble societal values. For their part, members of the visiting del egation presented a briefing on the vision and mission of the Council of Iraqi Scholars in cooperation with the rest of the legitimate institutions to enhance the values of tolerance, harmony and brotherhood among the components of Iraqi society, expressing their thanks and appreciation for the directives of the President of the Republic aimed at strengthening the state of citizenship.
