Third International Conference of KSGAAL Kicks off

The third annual international conference organized by the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) commenced under the theme "Arabic Language Computing and Linguistic Data Enrichment." The event features participation from several local, regional, and international institutions, as well as numerous university professors and specialists. A total of 40 researchers representing 22 countries are also in attendance.Secretary-General of KSGAAL Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi noted that languages that have survived to this day are those that transitioned to writing. He further stated that languages which will continue to thrive for future generations are those integrating with technology and artificial intelligence.Dr. Al-Washmi emphasized that the conference provides an opportunity for experts from around the world to gather, exchange ideas, and discuss scientific advancements aimed at propelling the Arabic language into a more developed and prosperous future in the digital age. He noted that t he conference seeks to enhance collaboration between computational scientists and linguists in the field of linguistic computing, with a focus on bridging the knowledge gap and enriching Arabic language corpora to improve artificial intelligence models.The conference sessions covered a range of topics, including machine learning, speech-to-text conversion, and automated recognition of scanned texts.Source: Saudi Press Agency
