Tehran: The commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has issued a stern warning to the United States, condemning what he described as a "false and futile cycle" of lies and contradictions. This statement comes in response to recent threats made by Washington to target Iranian energy infrastructure, followed by claims of negotiations being approved.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Major General Ali Abdollahi criticized the United States for its inconsistent behavior, stating, "The United States, on one hand, speaks of agreement and negotiation, and on the other hand commits villainy." His remarks were prompted by President Donald Trump's initial threat to "hit Iran very hard tonight" and seize Kharg Island, which was later retracted with an announcement that planned strikes had been canceled.

President Trump had declared that the US would soon assume control of Kharg Island and other key oil infrastructure, only to later announce the cancellation of the planned bombings, claiming that negotiations had reached "the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved."

On the previous night, the United States conducted airstrikes targeting various locations in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, including the cities of Jask and Sirik, as well as Qeshm Island in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
