Tehran: Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi has emphasized that unity and coordination among the country’s military branches are crucial for ensuring national security and maintaining independence. During a meeting with the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Sunday, Major General Mousavi highlighted the importance of synergy and cooperation between the Army and the IRGC as fundamental factors in overcoming adversaries and safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and revolutionary ideals.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Major General Mousavi expressed his gratitude for the contributions made by the IRGC in multiple domains, underlining the significance of leveraging Iran’s human resources, which he described as faithful, revolutionary, and self-sacrificing, for the nation’s defense capabilities. He acknowledged the IRGC’s pivotal role, particularly its Aerospace Force, in what he termed the ’12-day Sacred Defense’ against aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime.

Mousavi asserted that the significant achievements of the Armed Forces, particularly those of the IRGC and the Basij warriors, are the result of faith, knowledge, and the resolute leadership of revolutionary commanders. These accomplishments, he noted, validate the effectiveness of active deterrence strategies and the necessity of delivering powerful responses to threats.

The ongoing advancement and modernization of Iran’s defense mechanisms were also welcomed by Mousavi, who reiterated the Armed Forces’ readiness to tackle any potential threats or acts of aggression decisively. In response, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour expressed gratitude for the support from Major General Mousavi and affirmed the IRGC’s complete adherence to the directives of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces.

Pakpour highlighted the IRGC’s preparedness across various domains, including land, sea, air, cyber, and intelligence, cautioning that any hostile action will be met with a swift and decisive response. He emphasized that the IRGC’s mission extends beyond border defense, encompassing the protection of the Islamic Revolution’s ideals and the legacy of the martyrs, a commitment to which the IRGC remains steadfast.
