Tehran: Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, has announced that the Islamic Republic is prepared to eradicate terrorism and secure its borders with Pakistan. This statement was made during a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Tuesday.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Major General Mousavi highlighted the increasing cross-border movements of terrorist groups and emphasized the need for joint efforts to eliminate terrorism. He also extended his sympathy to the flood-affected people in Pakistan, indicating Iran’s willingness to assist its neighbor in any possible way.
Mousavi expressed satisfaction with the bilateral ties between Iran and Pakistan, noting their interactions and cooperation at various levels. He specifically praised Pakistan’s support for Iran during the recent Israeli-imposed 12-day conflict.
Field Marshal Munir, in response, expressed gratitude for Mousavi’s sympathy towards the Pakistani nation and offered his condolences to the families of the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province. Munir agreed on the importance of securing the common borders and suggested transforming the Pakistan-Iran border into a symbol of friendship, brotherhood, and economic development.
