Tehran: Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad Bagher Zolqadr, has warned US President Donald Trump against threatening Iran after he renewed his rhetoric over the failure to reach a final agreement between the two sides.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zolqadr addressed President Trump directly, emphasizing the resilience and historical significance of the Iranian nation. He remarked, "Addressing the delusional US president, who today threatened the 91 million people of Iran, I say this: You have previously, as the president of a rootless country with only 250 years of history, used similar language about wiping out Iran's ancient civilization. The result for you was nothing but defeat, frustration, and ultimately a request for negotiations and a ceasefire."

The top Iranian security official further stressed that the Iranian nation will not be intimidated by threats and urged Trump to engage with respect. He warned, "Speak to the people of Iran with respect; otherwise, we will respond in another language."
