Tehran: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says that the true way to honor and avenge the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is to work toward liberating Muslims from the oppression of the United States and the Israeli regime.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with Khalil Hamdan, a senior member of Lebanon's Amal Movement, who led a delegation representing Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at a memorial ceremony for the martyred Iranian leader.

Ghalibaf expressed gratitude to Berri for his message of condolence and recounted his visits to Beirut during the Lebanon war. He emphasized the martyred Leader's consistent support for Berri's influential role among Lebanon's Shia community and his advocacy for decisions made through consensus for the benefit of the Lebanese people.

He described the Leader's martyrdom as a significant loss for the Islamic world and stated that preserving Muslim unity and opposing foreign oppression are the most meaningful tributes to his legacy. Ghalibaf disclosed that he had engaged in discussions with Berri three times during the recent US-Israeli conflict against Iran, noting that Lebanon was a critical focus during negotiations with the United States.

Ghalibaf stressed that Iran insisted on including provisions related to Lebanon in a mutual understanding, asserting that fulfilling these commitments would fortify the country and help avert internal instability.

Hamdan conveyed a written message from Berri, expressing condolences to the Iranian people and commending the martyred Leader's legacy. He also underscored the historical origins of the Amal Movement, founded in 1974 by Lebanese-Iranian cleric Imam Musa al-Sadr and Iranian politician Mostafa Chamran, acknowledging their roles in shaping the early ideas of the Islamic Revolution.
