Trump Issues Stern Warning to Iran Amid Rescued F-15 Crew Member News

Washington: US President Donald Trump has intensified his rhetoric against Iran, threatening significant military action if Tehran fails to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by the evening of April 7. This ultimatum follows the successful rescue of a US F-15 crew member, who had been missing since the jet was downed on April 3.

According to Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty, Trump's demands have fluctuated in his social media posts, but his message remains clear: Iran must comply or face dire consequences. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump emphasized that Iran stands to lose critical infrastructure if the strait remains closed. He further hinted at a potential military strike in a post on his Truth Social platform, declaring April 7 as "Power Plant Day" and "Bridge Day" in Iran.

Despite the harsh warnings, Trump hinted at ongoing negotiations with Tehran, expressing optimism about reaching a resolution by April 6. He mentioned plans for a news conference to discuss potential developments, though he maintained his stance on taking over Iranian oil if no agreement is reached.

In a separate development, Trump announced the rescue of the F-15E crew member, describing the operation as "miraculous." The crew member, identified as a colonel, was found after a complex rescue mission in the Iranian mountains. Trump noted the crew member's injuries but assured that he would recover. The operation, involving US Special Operations forces, concluded without American casualties, though it faced significant challenges from Iranian forces.

The rescue mission encountered on-ground fighting, and despite attempts by Iranian forces to thwart the operation, US personnel successfully extracted the crew member. Reports indicate that Iranian authorities were also searching for the crew members, with offers of rewards for their capture.

Iran's military, however, presented a conflicting narrative, claiming to have disrupted the US operation without providing evidence of capturing the crew member. They reported the destruction of several US aircraft, a claim not corroborated by US sources.

As the deadline looms, Trump's threats underscore escalating tensions, with the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz exacerbating a global energy crisis. Iran's recent attacks on regional infrastructure have only heightened the stakes, prompting urgent calls for a resolution.

The unfolding situation continues to captivate international attention, with potential implications for global energy markets and geopolitical stability. As April 7 approaches, the world watches closely to see whether diplomatic negotiations will prevail or if military action will ensue.
