According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's deputy foreign minister, made these statements in response to Donald Trump's assertions regarding the strategic waterway. Gharibabadi took to his X account on Friday to elaborate on his views, describing schizophrenia as a complex and acute psychotic disorder characterized by impaired thinking and a distorted perception of reality. He highlighted the most common symptoms of the disorder, including hallucinations and delusions.

Gharibabadi further elaborated that psychologists recommend patients suffering from such conditions should be kept under round-the-clock observation and receive appropriate treatment. His comments are seen as a direct rebuttal to Trump's remarks, which have sparked significant international discourse concerning the geopolitical significance of the Strait of Hormuz.
