Tucker Carlson Alleges CIA Surveillance and Potential Foreign Agent Charges

Washington: US conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has claimed that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is potentially preparing to charge him for allegedly being an agent for a foreign country. In a video posted on X on Saturday evening, the former Fox News host stated that the CIA had accessed his text messages and discovered his communications with individuals from Iran prior to the US and Israel initiating a conflict with the country.

According to TRTworld.com, Carlson emphasized his loyalty to the United States, asserting that he has never acted against it. He expressed confidence that no substantive charges would arise from these allegations. Carlson also clarified that he has not received any financial compensation from foreign nations, highlighting that this is verifiable.

Carlson explained that his role as a commentator requires him to engage with various individuals globally to understand current events. He dismissed the potential legal case against him as unfounded, describing it as "Ludacris (ridiculous)." He expressed concern about the increasing authoritarian tendencies during wartime, noting the irony of such developments in the US, a country often involved in wars for freedom.

The commentator also criticized the US-Israel conflict with Iran. Former President Donald Trump, in response to ABC News journalist Jonathan Karl, remarked that Carlson had "lost his way," adding that Carlson is not aligned with the "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) movement, which Trump claims is aimed at saving the country.

The situation highlights existing tensions within the US right-wing and conservative circles, particularly since the onset of the Israeli actions in Gaza. These tensions have been exacerbated by the conflict with Iran, with pro-Zionist figures criticizing Carlson, along with other commentators like Candace Owens and Nick Fuentes, for their anti-Zionist positions.

Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, who passed away in September, had also opposed US military actions against Iran last July. In response to Carlson's claims, Owens likened the US actions against him to Soviet-era gulags, indicating the severity of the situation. She stated on X, "If they come for Tucker, we ride at dawn. Really nothing else to say here."
