Turkish intelligence announced the killing of a leader in the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in a security operation carried out in northern Iraq. Turkish security sources stated in a media circular today, Saturday, that the leader /Saliha Aq Beyik/ nicknamed /Nojian Amad/ joined the organization in 1993 and assumed responsibility for the organization in Iran after a while and began to move between the city of Penjwin and the Iranian interior continuously. The security sources explained that Turkish intelligence was following Beyik's movements between the city of Sulaymaniyah and the city of Penjwin in northern Iraq, where they were able to kill her while she was in the city of Sulaymaniyah. They indicated that Turkey is carrying out operations to combat the PKK organization, which targets forces and citizens and is active in several countries in the region, including Syria, Iraq and Iran. The armed organization is active in northern Iraq and uses Qandil Mountains as a stronghold.
