ANKARA, Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that the Knesset's adoption of a resolution rejecting setting up a Palestinian statehood is a sign that Israel disrespects international law and agreements. The acceptance of a resolution in Israeli parliament rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state is another indication that Israel occupation disregards international law and agreements, the Foreign Ministry said, labeling the decision as "null and void". The ministry's statement came as Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque, concurrently with the Knesset's passing of a resolution rejecting a Palestine's state. The ministry called on Israeli occupation to halt such acts that increase tension in the region, condemning Israeli occupation's provocative actions against Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. Establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is a req uirement of international law, it noted. Earlier in the day, the Knesset passed the resolution by a vote of 68-9. The Knesset claimed that setting up a Palestinian state "in the heart of the Land of Israel would pose an existential danger to Israel and its citizens, perpetuate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and destabilize the region".
